Three ingredients and a blender are all that stand between you and this delightfully delicious pineapple smoothie. Yep, just three. Pineapple, orange juice, and a banana.
There isn’t any dairy, as the pineapple causes the milk to sour too quickly, and refined sugar is unnecessary when dealing with fruit that is naturally this sweet. The texture is thick, but not too thick for a straw.
Basically, we are talking fruit in a glass. Tropical fruit to be exact. So take a sip, sit back, and listen to the palm trees swaying in the breeze. The only thing missing is the waves rolling across your toes.
Every year, as summer comes to a close I want to spend a week on a beach somewhere with my toes in the sand. There is just something idyllic about getting away from it all and operating on beach time.
Since I can’t actually make it to the tropics right now, I decided to bring the tropics to me with this pineapple smoothie. It’s as simple as you can get.
Measure out 1 cup of pineapple chunks. Place the pineapple in the blender with a banana and the clementine juice. Puree until smooth then adjust the consistency by adding in the water to thin it out. I used fresh fruit and a half cup of water, but you may need or less depending on the ripeness of your fruit or if you opted for frozen fruit instead.
Serve it in a glass with one of those little umbrellas if you have it! For an adults only twist, swap the half of the water for some pineapple rum and let your imagination soar.

Pineapple Smoothie Recipe
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- juice of 2 clementines about 1/3 cup
- 1 medium banana
- 1/2 cup water
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse to combine.
- Serve immediately.
