How to Make a Pineapple Banana Smoothie

Homemade smoothies are a great way to add more nutrients to your diet and one of the easiest things to master in the kitchen. Simply gather your ingredients, drop them in the blender, and puree until smooth.

Today’s pineapple banana smoothie is an all-fruit smoothie that is deliciously sweet with a tropical flavor and thick texture. It’s dairy-free, added-sugar-free, and vegan friendly.

So take a sip, sit back, and imagine the sound of palm trees swaying in the breeze and waves rolling across your toes. If you are feeling a little festive, try it with a shot of rum or mix it half and half with prosecco for a tropical mimosa.

Optional Smoothie Add-ins

The best part about homemade smoothies is that you can customize all of the ingredients for your own taste buds. While there isn’t a lot of room for swaps in a three ingredient smoothie, there is room to add in your favorites to make this smoothie uniquely yours.

Here are some popular add-ins that work really well in this smoothie:

  • Coconut water or coconut milk (skip the dairy milk – it will curdle)
  • Chia seeds or flax seeds
  • Protein or collagen powder
  • Oats or oatmeal
  • Fresh herbs like basil, cilantro, or dill (a little goes a long way!)
  • Spices like cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, or clove (again, a little goes a long way!)

    • Thanks for stopping by Charla! If you are using it for weight loss watchout for the higher sugar in this one. It’s all naturally occurring in the fruit, but it can add up if you depend on it too.

Although I love that summer is coming to an end, I will miss the tropical flavors that surround the season!
I might have to keep this on the back burner! 😛
