INGREDIENTS

– taco seasoning (*see notes when visiting my site) – butter – flour – milk – salt to taste – frozen or fresh boneless, skinless chicken (breast or thighs)

Chicken Taco Meat Recipe

1. In a small pot melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

2. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour.

3. As the mixture foams and starts to darken, add the milk.

Taco Sauce:

4. Whisk thoroughly to combine then add in the second 1/2 cup of milk.

5. Allow the mixture to heat.

6. Once tiny bubbles start to form, add in the chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of the taco seasoning you from the directions above.

7. Mix thoroughly and salt to taste.

1. Place chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker and cover with the sauce, making sure the chicken is coated on all sides so that it doesn't stick.

2. Set the slow cooker to high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.

3. When the timer goes off, remove the chicken pieces from the sauce.

4. Carefully shred the hot chicken using two forks and return it to the sauce.

5. Stir to evenly coat the chicken.

6. Serve on flour or corn tortillas with your choice of taco toppings.
