Bourbon Peach Crisp Recipe

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and set out a 1/4 cup of butter to come to room temperature.

Make the Caramel Sauce:

1. In a small sauce pan over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter until foamy. Add in 1/2 cup of brown sugar and continue to cook 3 - 5 minutes or until tiny bubbles form around the edge of the pan.

2. Stir in cream, 1/4 tsp salt, and bourbon. Continue to cook over medium heat.

3. Mixture will bubble up and expand. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

4. Once the mixture has tripled in size remove from heat and allow to cool slightly in the pan.

Prep the peaches:

1. Slice or dice your peaches depending on your personal preference.

2. Toss the peaches with 1/2 cup of the warm caramel sauce and let rest.

1. In a medium bowl combine flour, oats, 1/2 cup brown sugar, ginger, and salt.

2. Mix to combine well, then crumble in butter using your hands or a pastry cutter.

To assemble:

1. Pour 1/4 cup of caramel into the bottom of a 10" pie pan. Spoon the caramel covered peaches on top, being careful not to add the liquid from the bottom of the bowl.

2. Top with the streusel and drizzle with any leftover bourbon caramel sauce.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes or until golden brown.
