Easy Holiday  Sugared Cranberries

1. In a saucepan, heat 1 1/2 cups water and 1 cup sugar until sugar melts. Add 12 oz cranberries, cover, remove from heat, and let cool for about an hour.

2. Refrigerate cranberries in syrup for at least 8 hours or overnight. Strain cranberries, reserving syrup separately.

3. Combine 1 cup sugar with strained cranberries in a bowl, stirring gently to coat. Transfer cranberries to a rack on a baking sheet, allowing them to dry uncovered in the fridge for an hour until firm with a crunchy sugar coating.
