Crispy Sweet Potato Fritters with Sweet & Spicy Sauce

Sweet potato fritters are pan fried until crispy & served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. A super easy to make appetizer or side dish.

INGREDIENTS

For the Fritters: – sweet potato  – grated ginger root – egg – all purpose flour – ground cinnamon – ground fennel – kosher salt – oil For the sauce: – mayonnaise – honey – sriracha sauce

1. Wash, peel, and grate sweet potato with a coarse grater. Grate ginger using a fine grater or microplane.

2. In a bowl, combine grated sweet potato, ginger, egg, flour, cinnamon, fennel, and salt. Mix thoroughly. Place a cooling rack on a baking sheet with paper towels. Heat 1/4" deep oil in a frying pan over medium heat for 3–5 minutes.

3. Shape fritters into 1/2" deep, 2–3 inch-wide patties. Carefully place fritters in oil, ensuring they are not touching each other or the pan's sides.

4. Fry each side for 2-3 minutes until lightly golden brown. Drain on a cooling rack and lightly salt while hot.

5. Whisk mayo, honey, and sriracha for a smooth sauce. Serve warm fritters with the sriracha sauce for dipping.
