How to Make a Kiwi Pear Green Smoothie

Homemade smoothies are one of the easiest things to make and a great way to add more nutrient dense fruits and/or vegetables into your diet. Simply gather your ingredients, put them in the blender, and puree until smooth.

This kiwi pear green smoothie is an all-fruit smoothie that tastes sweet, but not too sweet. The green color comes mostly from the kiwi and a little bit from the skin of the pear. It’s dairy-free, added-sugar-free, and vegan friendly.

Optional Smoothie Add-ins

The best part about making smoothies at home is that you can customize all of the ingredients for your own taste buds. Don’t like banana? Swap it for avocado. Don’t have coconut water on hand? Try it with your favorite milk or dairy-free milk alternative. Want your smoothie extra cold? Swap the water for ice or use fresh fruit instead of frozen.

Ingredients

  • 1 pear (6 oz)
  • 1 kiwi (2 1/2 oz)
  • 1 banana (4 oz)
  • 1/2 cup coconut water (4 oz)

Instructions

  • Peel the banana, core the pear (peel if desired), slice the kiwi in half and use a spoon to scoop out the flesh.
  • Place all ingredients into the pitcher of your blender and puree until smooth.

    I love vegan smoothies (I use almond milk) but have never tried one with pear and kiwi! You’ve definitelely inspired me. Yum!

    • I know what you mean about the super tartness of kiwi! I can’t eat more than 1 without wondering if my tongue is going to dissolve – they are almost effervescent to me. The banana and pear go a long way to making the tartness much more subtle.
