In honor of healthy eating all month long, I’ve brought together this tasty list of Nine Simple Green Smoothies. Wait!! Before you bounce out of here to my pan fried Sweet Potato Fritters or this luscious Lemon Creme Brulee, please just give these simple green smoothies a shot!
Here is the thing about green smoothies – if you ever want them to taste good, they must include fruit! Having fruit in a smoothie is like having a dressing on a salad. The sweetness of the fruit covers up the bitterness of the leafy greens.
Like all roundups, this list of simple green smoothies all have a few things in common.
- Each simple green smoothie has 7 ingredients or less.
- They all get their green color naturally, from whole fruits and vegetables.
- All of the sugars in these smoothies are naturally occurring in the fruits, vegetables, and (when used) milks, fruit waters, and yogurts. If you are watching your sugar intake be sure to check the labels on the milks, fruit waters, and yogurts. Some brands add extra, unnecessary, sugars.
